European Film Award in Bochum
Kate Winslet honoured as Best Leading Actress in "The Reader" award for Best Cinematography goes to "Antichrist"

At the European Film Award ceremony in Bochums Century Hall last night, Kate Winslet received the award as best European actress for her role in "The Reader". Director Stephen Daldry came on stage to accept the trophy on her behalf. Anthony Dod Mantle was presented with the Carlo di Palma European Cinematographer Award 2009 for "Antichrist" and "Slumdog Millionaire".
"The Reader" and "Antichrist"were both supported by the Filmstiftung NRW; Lars von Triers"Antichrist"was shot entirely in NRW / Bergisches Land last year, and a big part of the “Reader”, which has already won numerous prizes, was made during 20 shooting days in MMC Studios, Cologne.

The 22nd European Film Award was presented by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions with support from the Cultural Capital of Europe RUHR.2010, “Essen for the Ruhr Region”; the Minister President of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia; the Minister of Federal and European Affairs and the Media in North Rhine-Westphalia, and the Filmstiftung North Rhine-Westphalia.
