In cooperation with the Wim Wenders Foundation, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW supports the Wim Wenders Grant as a way of promoting innovative cinematic storytelling. The Grant supports projects and talents that impress with their outstanding creativity.
Who can apply?
- Applications are accepted from filmmakers with their first place of residence in Germany, and from NRW in particular.
What are the funding conditions?
- The grant is endowed with up to 100,000 Euros in total and supports young filmmakers in developing projects with an individual visual language and special technical means.
- Support is given to fictional and documentary film ideas with an original cinematic approach concerning content and visuality.
- The grant supports the development of the respective project.
- A visual and narrative concept, budget, an audiovisual reference project from the filmmaker and a short video pitch are required for submission.
- The support is provided in the form of a grant.
How does it work?
- A consultation is required before submitting the application.
- Information and documents required for the application will be given during your consultation.
- There is one call for projects each year.
- The funding decisions are taken by Wim Wenders and a team of advisers.
