The European Film Promotion (EFP) has just announced the ten actors and actresses who will be presented as European Shooting Stars 2023 at the 73rd Berlinale. The selection was made by an international jury. Actress Leonie Benesch was selected to represent Germany.
Shortly before the 70th Berlinale, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW is pleased to report a recordbreaking result for 2019. For the first time, it was able to invest around 40.3 million Euros in the funding of films, series, TV films, games, festivals and regional promotion as well as training and further education.
86 million Euros for 376 projects, incl. 59 feature films, 13 series and TV projects, 15 games projects box-office successes with German arthouse and family entertainment: „That Boy Needs Fresh Air, „How About Adolf?“, „25 km/h“, „Gundermann“, „Help, I Shrunk My Parents“ Spectacular series and mini-series: „Babylon Berlin“, „Parfum“, „Wishlist 2.0“ and „Gladbeck“ 120 prizes
The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW is represented in all of the important festival sections with a total of 34 funded productions at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival (07 – 17.02.2019).
The first titles in the programme for the 69th Berlin International Film Festival have now been unveiled. The Filmstiftung-backed ¨Brecht¨ by Heinrich Breloer (direction and screenplay) will have its world premiere in the Berlinale Special sidebar.
The most important decision-making body of NRW's film funding infastructure, the main jury of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, met this week for the 150th time in order to take decisions on the funding of film and TV projects from North Rhine-Westphalia. Since the year of the Filmstiftung's founding, the main jury has backed 5,645 projects.
