Tom Tykwer's drama "A Hologram for the King" tells the story of Alan Clay, a struggling businessman who makes one last attempt to avoid bankruptcy. The cast included Tom Hanks and Sarita Choudhury in the lead roles. X Filme Creative Pool and Playtone produced the film, with X Verleih releasing "A Hologram for the King" in German cinemas in 2016. The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW backed the project with 700,000 Euros. Additional funding came from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, FFA and DFFF. Warner Bros. Pictures handles world sales. "A Hologram for the King" received two Lolas for Best Sound Design and Best Editing.
