"About Joan" is a co-production between Cologne-based Gifted Films West, 2.4.7. Films and Blinder Films. The producer on the German side is Reza Bahar ("The Lion Woman", "Asphalt Burning"). Director Laurent Larivière and co-writer François Decodts wrote the screenplay for the drama about Joan, who meets her childhood sweetheart by chance one night. Thrown into disarray by the reunion, she rushes headlong from Paris to her house in the country where she reflects on her entire life. Starring Isabelle Huppert, Lars Eidinger, Swann Arlaud and Freya Mavor. The film was backed by Filmstiftung NRW, the FFA Mini-Traité and Eurimages, among others. The film will be released theatrically by Camino Filmverleih, with Playtime handling world sales.
