DOK.Cologne
A joint series presented by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and lit.COLOGNE: Prominent guests from the worlds of literature, film, and sports will screen a seminal documentary and discuss it.
2026 Recap
To kick things off, DOK.COLOGNE came together for two evenings as part of lit.COLOGNE. The idea behind it is simple: people from the worlds of literature, film, and sports bring a documentary that has had a profound impact on them, talk about their connection to the film, and then discuss its themes with the audience.
Caroline Wahl kicked things off on March 10, 2026, at the Cineplex Filmpalast in Cologne. The author, whose novels *22 Bahnen*, *Windstärke 17*, and *Die Assistentin* have appeared on bestseller lists, appeared that evening not as a writer but as a viewer. She chose *THE ALPINIST*.
Benno Fürmann followed on March 21, 2026, at Cinenova Cologne with “AWARE – Reise in das Bewusstsein.” The documentary follows scientists and thinkers as they explore the question of what consciousness is and how it can be studied. The subsequent conversation with Gert Scobel focused on perception, inner experience, and the search for orientation in a complex world.
