The Special Children's Film

The Film and Media Foundation NRW has been involved in the “The Special Children’s Film” initiative since 2013. Together with partners from film funding organizations, public broadcasting, the film industry, and politics, the initiative is committed to developing original children’s films and giving them greater visibility in theaters and on television.

The focus is on original stories that are not based on existing brands or literary works and are closely connected to the everyday realities of children’s lives. Funding is provided for diverse and original material that appeals to young audiences and strengthens the selection of high-quality children’s films.
