As an extension of its previous funding programmes, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW is supporting the development and production of computer and video games and interactive content from the fields of VR/AR, web and mobile as part of its “Digital Games and Interactive Content” guideline.
Who can submit?
Companies and traders who are developing and producing digital games or interactive content are eligible to apply.
and have a registered office, a permanent establishment or a branch in North Rhine-Westphalia, or furnish prima facie evidence at the time of filing the application that they will have their registered office, a permanent establishment or a branch in North Rhine-Westphalia at the time of payment of the first instalment.
What are the funding conditions?
Funding for concept development takes the form of a grant. The subsidy can amount to up to 80% of the production costs, but no more than 20,000 Euros.
Funding for prototype development takes the form of a grant. The subsidy can amount to up to 80% of the production costs, but no more than 100,000 Euros.
The production funding will be allocated as a conditionally repayable, interest-free loan. The subsidy can amount to up to 50 % of the production costs, but not more than 500,000 Euros.
How does it work?
The prerequisite for the application is a consultation.
Necessary information and documents can be ascertained from the application forms.
The funding decisions are made by an award committee chaired by the management.

There are two to three funding sessions per year.
