The documentary "Ladies Only" by KHM graduate Rebana Liz John looks from a female perspective at what it means for women in the Indian metropolis to get into a train carriage at nine in the morning. Black and white, intimate images become a shadowy world where conversations and poems about women’s dreams and aspirations shed light on what it means for them to maintain their ambitions and freedom in a hyper-industrialised, money-driven and complex world. Director Rebana Liz John was responsible together with Milann Tress John for the camerawork on her graduation project which the Filmstiftung NRW backed with 17,000 Euros.
