Petra Müller, CEO of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. "The film region of NRW will be presented in all its diversity at this year’s Berlinale with three Filmstiftung-backed productions in the Competition and twelve films in other sections of the festival. We would like to congratulate all the film teams and, in particular, the Cologne-based producers Bettina Brokemper and Melanie Andernach, who have each had two films selected to the Competition and Perspektive Deutsches Kino respectively. Discussion at the Berlinale Series Market, which the Filmstiftung has been supporting as a main partner since the very beginning, will focus once again on current industry trends and present trendsetting high-end series, including two projects backed by the Filmstiftung. We are looking forward to inspiring films and encounters and wish Mariette Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian as well as the invited film teams a successful Berlinale!"
