European Work in Progress Cologne 2024 – Call for Entry – Open for accreditation now
The well-established industry event for excellent European film co-productions nearing completion, European Work in Progress Cologne (EWIP), is about to kick off and will be entering its 7th round this year. Projects can now be submitted for this year’s EWIP edition. The deadline for submissions is 1st of September 2024. EWIP is significantly supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, one of the leading film funding institutions in Europe, the Creative Europe MEDIA programme of the European Union as well as the FFA and the City of Cologne.
European Work in Progress Cologne (EWIP) will take place in Cologne from 14th to 16th of October 2024. Directly afterwards, from 15th to 17th of October 2024, the international film industry conference International Film Distribution Summit – IFDS – will take place for the third time. Accreditation for the EWIP will also allow participation in the IFDS.
Up to 30 European co-productions will compete on the EWIP stage in Cologne and enter the race for the numerous awards and support. The total funding amount is 50,000 euros, which is awarded by the joint partners of EWIP: K13 Studios, MMC Film & TV Studios, LAVAlabs Moving Images, Gruvi, Usheru, Way Film and mm filmpresse for post-production and festival PR.
The best projects will be selected by a jury of experts from the international film industry. The members of the jury are yet to be announced.
At EWIP buyers, industry delegates and journalists will have the opportunity to get an overview of the latest and most exciting film projects in their late production phases. Up to 30 carefully selected European (co-)productions will present their current state of development, show first scenes and pitch their plans in order to win the best partners for further production processes and distribution within the framework of the EWIP platform. Since its first edition EWIP is held ahead of the Film Festival Cologne.
Accreditation for the European Work in Progress Cologne 2024 (EWIP) is reserved for colleagues who are actively involved in the film industry: Representatives of production companies, world sales, film distributors, TV channels or streaming providers, film festivals or complementary fields in the audio visual sector. Accreditation provides access to the project presentations, panel discussions and all networking events of the European Work in Progress Cologne 2024 (EWIP). The accreditation also allows access to the subsequent International Film Distribution Summit – IFDS – as well as to all film screenings and industry events of the Film Festival Cologne, depending on ticket availability. The pass is non-transferable. The accreditation fee is 65.00 euros and the pass is not transferable.
It is thanks to the support of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW that EWIP was launched and has been able to massively expand its market significance in the last 7 years. The industry event also takes place in cooperation with Film Festival Cologne, KölnBusiness and the International Film Distribution Summit – IFDS. EWIP continues to receive substantial support from Creative Europe Desks Germany – MEDIA.
