EWIP 2021: Call for Entries!
The fourth edition of the industry event European Work in Progress Cologne (EWIP) will take place from 19 – 21 October ahead of the Film Festival Cologne (21 – 28 October).
Up to 30 European feature films, documentary and fiction, in the shooting or post-production stages will be chosen by the selection committee to be presented exclusively to world sales agents, European distributors, festival programmers and film industry delegates during the event. Thanks to their participation in EWIP, many projects have so far been selected to celebrate their international premiere in Berlin, Cannes, Rotterdam or Venice, or secured a deal for international sales or distribution.
A jury of renowned industry representatives will once again acknowledge the best pitches with awards including post-production services worth 37,500€ provided by our partners K13 Studios, ARRI Media and LAVAlabs Moving Images as well as international festival promotion provided by ZOOM Medienfabrik.
European Work in Progress Cologne is mainly supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, one of Europe’s leading film funding institutions, and takes place in cooperation with the Film Festival Cologne as well as AG Verleih, the association of German independent film distributors.
Who can submit?
Until 15 August 2021 producers of European films or co-productions with at least one European country involved can submit a project in the later stage of production seeking to close a gap in the final financing or to find suitable partners for an adequate international release strategy.
Eligible are projects that have excerpts of already shot material available to present to the attending group of selected film industry representatives. The submitted material can, of course, differ from the material presented. The pitches are scheduled for a max. of 15 minutes incl. film excerpts and a Q&A. Besides the many informal networking opportunities, there will be individual one-to-one meetings, panel discussions, workshops and evening events to make the participation as impactful as possible.
