Filmstiftung NRW official main partner for the third time at EFM’s „Drama Series Days“

This will be the third time that the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW is serving as the main partner for the „Drama Series Days“ within the framework of the European Film Market at the Berlinale. Following the great success of the last two years, the programme of the „Drama Series Days“ will be expanded considerably and now runs over three days. A change of venue is therefore also in store: the third edition of the „Drama Series Days“ will be held from 13 to 15 February for the first time at the Zoo Palast.

„The fact that the ,Drama Series Days‘ could be expanded considerably is the best proof of the success of this quite new platform and of the importance of international high-end series,“ says Petra Müller, CEO of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. „As a co-initiator, the Filmstiftung is pleased to also be a main partner for the third edition, and, as series fans, we are looking forward to new productions and the international exchange.“

After the welcome on Monday morning, the Film- und Medienstiftung will stage the opening panel discussion in collaboration with The Hollywood Reporter. „How to Make Your Series Go Global“ will focus on „Co-Production, Financing and Distribution Strategies for Binge-worthy TV“. In the afternoon, a panel discussion entitled „European Series Funding at a Glance“ will present the current instruments for European series funding.

The “Drama Series Days” are a joint initiative co-organised by the industry platforms European Film Market, Berlinale Co-Production Market and Berlinale Talents. The Film- und Medienstiftung is the official main partner for the 2017 edition of the „Drama Series Days“ in the European Film Market, the platform is organised in cooperation with HBO Europe and supported by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. The EFM is regarded as one of the leading markets for the international trade with film rights and audiovisual content.
