German Television Award for the Funded Series “Hundertdreizehn”

A major success for “Hundertdreizehn”: The production, funded by the Film and Media Foundation NRW, was honored as Best Drama Series at the 2026 German Television Award. The award ceremony took place for the first time at the Confex Center in Cologne. The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW also participated as a partner of the German Television Awards for the first time this year.

At the grand TV gala for the German Television Awards on Wednesday evening, the outstanding achievements of the 2025–26 television season were honored. Among the winners was the FMS-funded series “Hundertdreizehn” (ARD/Degeto/ORF/WDR/Windlight Pictures/Satel Film), which received the award in the Best Drama Series category.

The six-part series takes its starting point from a statistical figure: On average, 113 people are directly or indirectly affected when one person dies in a traffic accident. Developed and written by Arndt Stüwe, the series intertwines the life stories of various characters whose lives are connected by a bus accident. It was directed by Rick Ostermann. “Hundertdreizehn” was produced by Windlight Pictures and Satel Film.

The production received a total of four nominations for the German Television Award: in addition to the Best Drama Series category, it was also nominated for Best Direction in Fiction, Best Screenplay in Fiction, and Best Editing in Fiction.

The Film and Media Foundation NRW extends its heartfelt congratulations to the entire “Hundertdreizehn” team on this special honor.

German Television Award Held at the Confex Center in Cologne for the First Time

For the 27th time, the German Television Award honored outstanding achievements in fiction, entertainment, and news. A total of 29 awards were presented on September 8 and 9. Following the “Night of the Creatives” at Cologne’s Flora the evening before, the TV gala—hosted by Barbara Schöneberger—took place at the Confex Center in Cologne for the first time. RTL broadcast the ceremony live during primetime.

The Founders’ Honorary Award went to journalist and longtime “RTL aktuell” anchor Peter Kloeppel. The Encouragement Award went to Nico Marischka, Jonathan Kriener, Arsseni Bultmann, and Loran Alhasan, the young cast of the series “Chabos.”

The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW became a partner of the German Television Award for the first time in 2026. Together with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Cologne, it is thus supporting one of the most prestigious awards in the German television industry at its long-standing home in Cologne.

The German Television Award is sponsored by RTL, ZDF, SAT.1, ARD, and MagentaTV. Decisions regarding the awards were made by an independent jury of experts chaired by journalist and producer Stephan Lamby.
