MEDIA @ Berlinale 2026
With 20 productions, Creative Europe is once again strongly represented at the festival. The opening film , “No Good Men,” by Afghan director Shahrbanoo Sadat, was funded by MEDIA and also received the Baumi Script Development Award from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW in 2021 for the story development project “Kabul Jan” —the film’s working title at the time—with the Baumi Script Development Award. The European film industry gathers at the MEDIA booth at the European Film Market. There, the Creative Europe Desks provide advice on all funding opportunities. In addition, there are info sessions and showcases on individual calls for proposals.
Other MEDIA-funded highlights: The European Shooting Stars, Berlinale Talents, and the Co-Production Market offer European networking opportunities and visibility for the funding program.
