Mediencluster presents NRW as a digital hub in Texas and San Francisco

Today (March 7) marks the beginning in Austin, Texas, of the South by Southwest Conference with SXSW Interactive, one of the world’s most important trade fairs for the transmedia content industry (7 – 12 March, 2014). This year will again see 25 companies from North Rhine-Westphalia travelling in a delegation to meet and exchange experiences about interactive content, media convergence and the creative industries with the relevant industry players of the international media, creative and cultural sectors . In addition, the trip will provide an opportunity to present the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia as the leading German hub for the media, cultural and creative industries.

The Mediencluster NRW is participating in the project of NRW.International, supported with funds from the Ministry of Economics. The institutional partners are the Chamber of Industry and Trade in Cologne, the Ministry for Federal Affairs, Europe and Media NRW, the City of Cologne and NRW.Invest, in association with the regional cluster Creative.NRW.

The GDC Games Developers Conference will be held a few days later in San Francisco (17-21 March 2014). The Mediencluster will present NRW as a hub at what is regarded as the most important forum for games developers, producers, programmers, artists, games designers and audio professionals. The industry gathers here in around 400 lectures, panels, tutorials and roundtables to conduct a debate about the future of the games industry.
