NRW at world’s largest location fair in Los Angeles
- Film Commission NRW presenting the film region at the AFCI Locations Show in Los Angeles
- 27-29 June in the Los Angeles Convention Center
The film region of North Rhine-Westphalia will be presented at the AFCI Locations Show in Los Angeles from 27-29 June, 2013. This will be the fourth time that the Film Commission NRW is introducing NRW as a professional shooting location and strong co-production region to the fair’s international visitors. The Film Commission NRW is part of the umbrella stand of the German Film Commissions organised at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
„Not only Jim Jarmusch’s ‚Only Lovers Left Alive’, Ron Howard’s ‚Rush’ or Philip Stölzl’s ‚The Physician’ show that North Rhine-Westphalia offers excellent conditions for international co-productions“, says Andrea Baaken, head of the Film Commission NRW. „At the Locations Show, we inform international partners about the unique shooting possibilities, the professional studios and the creative film scene of NRW as a production hub.“
The AFCI Locations Show is organised by the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), the American umbrella organisation. Apart from presentations of international locations and film commissions, the trade fair offers the delegates a varied programme of panels and seminars, including a one-day conference – The Grill – about film financing issues.
The Film Commission NRW was founded by Filmstiftung NRW in 1999. German and international production companies from the audiovisual industry can obtain information here about shooting locations, studios and service-providers and film-makers based in the region. The Film Commission NRW provides contacts free of charge and without any red tape and liaises with public authorities. Since 2001, it has also joined forces with the Film Cities NRW and location scouts to offer a location database at www.locationnrw.de.
