NRW @ International Emmys in New York

At the International Emmy World Television Festival and the International Emmy Award Ceremony in New York City the State of North Rhine-Westphalia presented itself as Germany’s leading TV location. The producers Bettina Brokemper (Heimatfilm), Leopold Hoesch (Broadview), Daniel Hetzer (action concept), Michael Souvignier (Zeitsprung) and Sam Davis (Rowboat), actors Claudia Michelsen and Wotan Wilke Möhring as well as the TV hosts Joko Winterscheidt und Klaas Heufer-Umlauf formed this year’s NRW delegation. Joko and Klaas were also the presenters of the category "Non Scripted Entertainment".

The documentary "Songs of War", produced by the Cologne-Hamburg based production company "a&o buero filmproduktion" for ZDF and Arte, was awarded at the ceremony with an iEmmy for "Best Arts Programming".

After the festival and awards ceremony, there was another highlight for German and international representatives of TV and Media on Tuesday: The traditional “NRW-Rendezvous” Lunch in the Hearst Tower, where German and international representatives of TV and Media met for a lunchtime networking and brainstorming session.

The event was hosted by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, represented by Media Secretary of State Mr. Marc Jan Eumann in collaboration with the Landesanstalt für Medien (LfM), represented by Ms. Christiane Bertels-Heering, and the Film- und Medienstiftung North Rhine-Westphalia , represented by its CEO Ms. Petra Müller.

Since 2009, Germany’s leading TV location, the State of North Rhine-Westphalia has been a presence at the annual TV festival with a star-studded delegation of television-makers.
