NRW Media Forum 2015 – "Platform for Dialogue on the Digital Future"
The 27th NRW Media Forum (09 – 11 June 2015) will be discussing topics relating to the future of the media, broadband and digital industries in close co-operation with ANGA COM and INTERACTIVE COLOGNE
Düsseldorf, Cologne 13 March 2015 – The 27th NRW Media Forum will take place in Cologne from Tuesday, 9 June to Thursday, 11 June and, in co-operation with the ANGA COM and INTERACTIVE COLOGNE, will be offering an enhanced, compact conference programme for the media, broadband and digital industries.
NRW Prime Minister Hannelore Kraft will be opening the NRW Media Forum and ANGA COM at the Cologne Exhibition Centre and at the same time, launching the opening topic for the first day of the conference. The events scheduled at the Media Forum will address current developments in the world of digital media, notably the political discussion on a convergent media system to meet future needs. In co-operation with Interactive Cologne, the agenda at the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry will focus on the continuing transformation of media content and usage, the changing television and film landscape, as well as social communication.
NRW Media Minister Dr. Angelica Schwall-Düren says, "By combining last year´s NRW Media Forum and ANGA COM, we succeeded in bringing together media, infrastructure and telecommunications players in NRW, thereby developing a convergent platform for dialogue on the digital future. In 2015, we are also aiming at greater integration of the creative digital and internet sector by co-operating with Interactive Cologne. Combined with numerous attractive industry get-togethers, NRW will, for an entire week, be demonstrating the diversity and strength of its convergent media, digital and communications industries, while also underscoring its relevance in the current debate on media and network policy."
Joachim Vranken, Spokesman for the INTERACTIVE COLOGNE Festival, says, "By linking the well-established Media Forum with our industry get-together for the young internet sector, we are making a major contribution to promoting digital transformation in our society and at the same time, showing that the digital industry is a significant location factor for NRW."
Since reorientating during its anniversary year in 2013, the NRW Media Forum sees itself as a key platform for media and network policy dialogue, a forum for discussing the challenges presented by the digital information society and as a central meeting place for media entrepreneurs, media makers, creative experts and company founders at one of Europe´s most successful media locations. In tandem with the ANGA COM and INTERACTIVE COLOGNE, NRW Media Forum 2015 offers an attractive conference format – a next level forum for debates, exchanges and networking.
With its wide diversity of topics and structure, it creates a common space for discussing the current prospects for content providers and producers, network and platform operators, for the internet, as well as the interactive sectors. In 2015, the Media Forum will be opening up even more to young internet and digital businesses and especially to everyday digital transformation issues, as seen from the user´s point of view.
This combination of trade fair, media congress and young digital platform for creativity, culture and the digital future will give rise to a novel industry get-together with national and international appeal.
