  • Nomination in the "Best Actress" category for her role as Lady Di
  • Shooting at Schloss Nordkirchen in NRW, among other locations

The 2022 Oscar nominations have just been announced. Kristen Stewart has received a nomination in the “Best Actress” category for her performance in Pablo Larraín's film "Spencer".

The drama, which had its world premiere during the 2021 Venice Film Festival, centres on Princess Diana’s last weekend with the British Royal Family at the Sandringham estate in 1991. Critics attending the festival in Venice had been bowled over by Stewart’s acting performance as Lady Di. Her international breakthrough came with the "Twilight" saga. In 2015, she became the only American actress to ever to have won the French César film award for her performance in Olivier Assayas' "Clouds of Sils Maria". The Oscar nomination is the latest highlight coming in the wake of her Golden Globe nomination, the nomination as "Actress of The Year" at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards, and the award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

"Congratulations to Kristen Stewart on being nominated for the world’s most important film award! We are delighted for Pablo Larrain and Komplizen Film and will keeping our fingers crossed for the Oscar ceremony in March!," says Petra Müller, CEO of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW.
