Minister Liminski: Our Media Policy Creates a Reliable Framework
The Minister for Federal and European Affairs, International Affairs, and Media, and Head of the State Chancellery, announces:
North Rhine-Westphalia has maintained its position as the leading location for film and television production in Germany. In 2024, 44 percent of all shows, series, and films were produced along the Rhine, Ruhr, and Lippe rivers. Two years earlier, this figure stood at 42 percent.
These figures are taken from the latest study, “Film and Television Production in North Rhine-Westphalia Compared to Other Federal States in 2023 and 2024.” Media Minister Nathanael Liminski presented the detailed findings on film and television production in Germany on Friday, February 6, 2026, together with the study’s author, Prof. Dr. Klaus Goldhammer, managing director of Goldmedia GmbH, at the State Chancellery in Düsseldorf.
