Director Philipp Stölzl continues the story of the medic Rob Cole, played once again by Tom Payne. A significant portion of the filming took place in North Rhine-Westphalia: Crucial scenes of the film were shot at MMC Studios in Cologne, including elaborately staged interiors that significantly contribute to the atmosphere and narrative depth of the historical drama. The production thus utilized one of the state’s most important studio locations for key moments in the plot.
