With Peak Point Pictures, a new production company is launching in Cologne, bringing together emerging filmmakers and experienced producers in a shared production model. Backed by two of Germany’s leading production companies, Zeitsprung Pictures (Kleo, series Netflix), Oktoberfest 1900/1905 (series, ARD), Euphorie (series RTL+), The diary of Anne Frank, Lovely Thomas (award-winning feature films), and MMC Studios Germany’s leading production hub for film and television. The new venture combines proven expertise with fresh creative vision. The company focuses on international high-end co-productions as well as German and European debut projects. This approach creates development opportunities that extend beyond individual projects and open up long-term perspectives for young filmmakers around the world.

Young leadership with the backing of established producers

The company was initiated by Till Derenbach, Managing Director and Producer at Zeitsprung Pictures and Founder of Peak Point Pictures, together with Bastie Griese, Managing Director at MMC Movies, and Len Reddemann and Paul Hordych. The two graduates of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and members of the Media Founders Center NRW 2025 bring the perspective of a new generation and aim to create, together with Derenbach and Griese, a space offering genuine development opportunities in today’s industry landscape.

Strengthening Cologne as a production hub

With the founding of Peak Point Pictures, Zeitsprung Pictures and MMC Studios are sending a clear signal for Cologne and North Rhine-Westphalia as a production hub. The company aims to develop European stories from the heart of Europe for the global market.

Walid Nakschbandi, CEO of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW: “Peak Point Pictures demonstrates the potential that emerges when entrepreneurial drive, strong infrastructure, and talent development are brought together. This founding sends a strong signal for North Rhine-Westphalia: a region with international ambitions and a location that offers space for new production models and big ideas.”

Till Derenbach, Managing Director and Producer Zeitsprung Pictures and Peak Point Pictures: “With the idea of building a mini-major studio in North Rhine-Westphalia, we want to further strengthen the region while creating a unique space in which young talent and experienced producers can jointly realize national and international projects. The first projects are already in the pipeline.”

Len Reddemann, Managing Director and Producer Peak Point Pictures: “We’re incredibly excited to finally get started with our projects. At the moment, two beautiful feature film debuts are in development, and we can’t wait to bring them to life.”

Behind Peak Point Pictures stand two of Germany’s leading production companies with international profiles:

Zeitsprung Pictures (Michael Souvignier and Till Derenbach) has firmly established itself as a producer of numerous award-winning formats and programs across both the German and international film and television landscape. Its portfolio reflects the company’s breadth and diversity, including projects such as Kleo (series Netflix), Euphorie (RTL+ series), Nuremberg (ARD), Oktoberfest 1900/1905 (ARD), as well as acclaimed feature films like The diary of Anne Frank, Lovely Thomas, Führer and Seducer, and Cranko. Most recently, the feature film Mrs. Winkler Leaves the House, directed by Doris Dörrie, was completed, while The Physician 2 is currently showing in German cinemas.

MMC Studios is one of Europe’s leading studio and production hubs, known for international production expertise and comprehensive infrastructure for major TV formats as well as feature films and series. MMC Movies is the fiction production arm of MMC Studios, one of the largest film and television studios in Europe. Since its founding in 1999, MMC Movies has realized more than 100 national film and series productions — including Amélie (Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain), The Reader, Heroine, The Physician, Only Lovers Left Alive, Rush, Babylon Berlin, and Cologne 75 — in roles ranging from service producer to lead producer.

Len Reddemann and Paul Hordych form a producer-director duo, allowing for multifaceted perspectives on projects. Their graduation film Champions and Us, which celebrated its world premiere at this year’s Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival, was recently awarded the prize for Best Emerging Actor. In addition to the four founders, the company’s core team includes Yvonne Gottschalk as in-house project manager and Meta Luis supporting development.
