Two Powerhouses, One Vision: Zeitsprung Pictures and MMC Studios Join Forces with Young Talents to Found Peak Point Pictures in Cologne

Peak Point Pictures combines decades of production experience with young talent—with the goal of developing and producing international and national high-end series and feature films based in North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as promoting German and European debut films. Initiated by Till Derenbach of Zeitsprung Pictures and Bastie Griese of MMC Movies, together with Max Ophüls Prize winners Len Reddemann and Paul Hordych.

Peak Point Pictures is a new production company launching in Cologne that brings together emerging filmmakers and experienced producers in a collaborative production model. The focus is on international high-end co-productions as well as German and European emerging cinema. This creates development opportunities that extend beyond individual projects and open up long-term prospects for young filmmakers from around the world.

In addition to the founders Till Derenbach (CEO and producer at Zeitsprung Pictures) and Bastie Griese (CEO of MMC Movies), Len Reddemann and Paul Hordych play a central role. Both graduates of the Konrad Wolf Film University in Babelsberg and members of the NRW 2025 Media Startup Center, they bring the perspective of a new generation and, together with Derenbach and Griese, aim to create a space that offers genuine opportunities for growth in these times.

With the founding of Peak Point Pictures, Zeitsprung Pictures and MMC Studios are sending a clear signal in support of Cologne and North Rhine-Westphalia as production hubs. The company aims to develop European stories from the heart of Europe for the global market.

Behind Peak Point Pictures are two of Germany’s most prominent production companies with international reach: Zeitsprung Pictures ( Michael Souvignier and Till Derenbach) has firmly established itself as a producer of various award-winning formats and programs within the German and international film and television landscape. Its portfolio showcases the company’s diversity and breadth, including projects such as “Kleo” ( 2 seasons, Netflix), “Euphoria” (RTL+ series), “Nuremberg 45 – In the Face of Evil” (ARD), “Oktoberfest 1900/1905” (ARD), as well as award-winning feature films such as “The Diary of Anne Frank,” “Dear Thomas,” “Führer and Seducer,” and “John Cranko.” The feature film “Mrs. Winkler Leaves the House,” directed by Doris Dörrie, has just wrapped production,and “The Physician 2” is currently playing in German theaters.

MMC Studios is one of Europe’s leading studio and production locations and is renowned for its international production expertise as well as its comprehensive infrastructure for major TV show formats, feature films, and series projects. MMC Movies is the fiction production arm of MMC STUDIOS, one of the largest film and television studios in Europe. Since its founding in 1999, MMC MOVIES has produced more than 100 national film and series productions, such as “The Fabulous World of Amélie,” “The Reader,” “Heldin,” “The Physician,” “Only Lovers Left Alive,” “Rush,” “Babylon Berlin,” and “Köln 75,” taking on various roles ranging from service provider to producer.

Len Reddemann and Paul Hordych form a duo specializing in production and directing, which allows for multifaceted perspectives on projects. Their graduation film “Championsund Wir, ”which celebrated its world premiere at this year’s Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival, was just awarded the prize for Best Emerging Actor. In addition to the four founders, the company’s core team includes Yvonne Gottschalk as in-house project manager and Meta Luis, who provides support in story development.
