In order to strengthen networking and cooperation between the actors, the Film- und Medienstiftung, together with its long-standing partners, supports the following initiatives, among others:
Matchmaking: The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW has developed three series of events in recent years under the heading of “Film meets…”. “Film meets Literature” was staged in 2014 in close cooperation with Lit.Cologne to enable creatives from cinema and literature to meet over three evenings in order to discuss aspects of collaboration and present films made together. Under the heading of “Film meets Advertising”, the Film -und Medienstiftung NRW cooperates closely with the Directors Lounge/BBDO which provides directors with a platform to present their works and get to know filmmakers and newcomers. The 50th Directors Lounge in 2015 included guest of honour Wim Wenders presenting his commercials for the first time. In 2016, two documentaries and artist portraits were presented for the first time as part of the Art.Cologne under the heading of „Film meets Art“.
