The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW has been awarding the Wim Wenders Grant since 2014 once a year to promote innovative cinematic art. Young filmmakers are supported to realise projects with new means to enrich the picture language.
Who can apply?
- Applications are accepted from authors, directors and video artists with their first place of residence in Germany, and especially from NRW.
What are the funding conditions?
- Support is awarded to projects with a cinematic approach that is innovative both regards content and in formal terms.
- The development of the respective project is supported with the grant.
- The prerequisite is that a project concept and a budget are submitted with the application.
- The funding is in the form of a grant.
How does it work?
- The prerequisite is that a consultation is held with the responsible funding official before submitting an application.
- The information and documents required for the application are set out in the application forms.
- There is one call for projects each year.
- The funding decisions are taken by a jury chaired by Wim Wenders.
