The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW supports films for cinema and television at all stages of production and distribution as well as the development of innovative audiovisual content.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Amélie, Stephen Daldry’s The Reader, Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, Ron Howard’s Rush and Jim Jarmush’s Only Lovers left alive – these are only a few examples for international star cinema, shot on location or in studio with experienced crews, as well as films by internationally acclaimed German directors like Wim Wenders, Tom Tykwer or Margarethe von Trotta supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. With an annual budget of about 35 million Euros in more than 29 years the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW backs filmmaking for cinema and television in production and distribution.
