"Babylon Berlin" sold to over 140 territories

The Filmstiftung-backed series "Babylon Berlin" has now been sold to over 140 territories worldwide. Among the latest deals are Latin America (AMC), Japan (BS 12) and South Korea (Channel U), announced Beta Film on October 14th. Episode one to three of the third season of the drama had its German free-TV premiere on ARD and its free VOD platform on October 11th with great success, scoring more than 4 million viewers (13.6% share) and an excellent number of 2.3 million online viewers within the first four days. The next three episodes will be screened tonight at primetime on ARD.

Babylon Berlin (40 hours) is produced by X Filme Creative Pool in co-production with ARD Degeto, WDR, Sky and Beta Film. Tom Tykwer (“Sense 8”, “Cloud Atlas”, “Run Lola Run”), Henk Handloegten (“Good Bye Lenin!”) and Achim von Borries (“Alone in Berlin”) helm the project as director/writer trio, starring Volker Bruch (“Generation War”) and Liv Lisa Fries (“NSU German History X”).
