„German Pavilion" at Cannes: Platform for the German film scene
German Films and FOCUS Germany will have a joint presence in the „German Pavilion" at the 71st Festival de Cannes (8 – 19 May)
The „German Pavilion" in the Village International of the Marché du Film has served for several years as the meeting place and port of call for the accredited festival delegates from the German and international film industries at the Festival de Cannes. Located right next to the Festival Palais and between the sea and the Croisette, the German Pavilion is the ideal place for meetings and conversations, getting to know one another and exchanging information and, last but not least, having somewhere to relax a little away from the hurly burly of the festival .
This year will again see visitors having lounges and the sun terrace at their disposal for meetings. Moreover, they can receive expert advice at the information stands of German Films and FOCUS Germany in the entrance area.
The „German Pavilion" is organised by German Films, the national information and service centre for the international circulation of German films, and FOCUS Germany, the amalgamation of the eight large regional film funds. The following institutions are represented: FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, Film-und Medienstiftung NRW, HessenFilm und Medien, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, MFG-Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung and nordmedia Fonds Niedersachsen Bremen; the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM), the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and German Films Service + Marketing GmbH.
The stand number for the „German Pavilion" this year is No. 123.
