International Emmy Semi-Final Round of Judgings in Cologne on 19 June

▪ Jury of around 55 industry experts makes preselection in four categories
▪ Presentation of the International Emmys in New York on 25 November, 2019

A jury of film and television professionals will meet for the 13th time on Wednesday, 19 June, for the Semi-Final Round of Judgings in Cologne to determine the international nomination candidates in four categories. The nominations in all 20 categories will be announced at MIPCOM in the autumn. This year will see the nominations in Cologne being made for the categories of  "Best Performance by an Actress" (English-language programmes), Documentaries (Latin America), Current Affairs (Asia and Africa) and News (English-language programmes) as well as in the category for TV Movie/Mini-Series (English language productions).

The Semi-Final Round of Judgings is being supported in 2019 by the Prime-Minister of the State of NRW, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the Landesanstalt für Medien NRW, Broadview TV, FilmLounge and the MMC Studios. The Cologne-based producer and iEmmy ambassador Leopold Hoesch (Broadview TV) and WDR are serving as the hosts. In the run-up to the awards ceremony, about 30 semi-final judgings are held each year around the globe to decide on the nominations in ten categories. Cologne has been a venue for the judgings since 2008. The 47th International Emmy Awards will be presented in New York on 25 November. The Film- und Medienstiftung, the State of NRW and the Landesanstalt für Medien NRW will attend for the 11th time with a delegation of television professionals.

The Semi-Final Round of Judgings in Cologne with representatives from TV, film, the media and politics is one of the largest in the world.
