Striving for a new film policy structure

At the opening of the International Film Conference of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, NRW’s State Secretary for Media Dr. Marc Jan Eumann presented the basic features of the new state government’s film policy. Eumann emphasised that the federal states want to cooperate intensively to build a new structure of film policy in Germany.

International Film Conference 18.–20.06.2012, Staatenhaus Cologne

This year the International Film Conference of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW takes place in the context of Medienforum.NRW and will again be discussing the effects of digitalisation on the production, distribution and reception of film, TV and innovative media content. The conference will also be concerning itself with the entertainment field.

International Film Conference in Cologne from 18th-20th June 2012

In 2012 the International Film Conference organised by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, which takes place every year in the context of the Medienforum.NRW, will be re-examining the effects of digitalisation on the production, distribution and reception of films, TV and innovative media content.

Five NRW‐Films at the Film Festival of Cannes

NRW will be represented by five films in the various sections of the 65th Film Festival of Cannes (16th ‐27th May). These invitations to Cannes are further evidence of the state’s producers’ and filmmakers’ ability to hold their own against international competition.

NRW@Berlinale 2012

NRW is well represented as a film state at the 62nd International Film Festival Berlin (9th to 19th February): 21 films that were realized in or with participation by North Rhine-Westphalia have received an invitation to the official sections of the Berlinale this year. 18 of them were made with support from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW.
